Plymouth City Centre

Your Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) is a group of local police officers dedicated to serving your community. The team is made up of officers and PCSOs based in your area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

We work closely with local authorities, community leaders and residents to decide our policing priorities for the area. This helps us to find useful, long-term solutions to local problems, while maintaining our wider focus on reducing crime across Devon and Cornwall.

Please find contact details for your Neighbourhood Policing Team provided below.

Please note that to report a crime or incident to Devon and Cornwall Police,  please visit Devon & Cornwall Police or in an emergency, please dial 999.

Local Priority Issues

Priority Action taken

This will include fortnightly partnership meetings to discuss those individuals causing the most harm in our communities.
A real focus on Retail and Business Crime
Hotspot Policing- Maintaining high visibility patrols in key areas across the City Centre footprint.

Issued 17 October 2025

High visibility patrols in and around the City Centre and Waterfront area by the local neighbourhood team. On top of this we will also have hotspot patrols within the City Centre. This is in addition to the local team on duty.
There has also been a retail crime operation in the city centre over the last week resulting in 8 arrests and 17 stop searches.

2. Partnership Enforcement.
• Build effective working partnership with Plymouth City Council as part of local CSP to help obtain;
• Closure Orders
• Criminal Behaviour Orders
• Community Protection Warnings/Community Protection Notices
• Civil Injunctions

Ongoing work with the local authority in order to issue orders to those individuals causing the most harm.

Aside from this, we are actively enforcing the new Public Spaces Protection Order within City Centre car parks.

3. Violence Against Women and Girls, Evening and Nightime Economy/Licensing

• Increase police visibility in the evening and night time economy (ENTE) - early evening engagement Friday and Saturday evenings by Neighbourhood Officers.
• Improve engagement with licensed premises to develop intelligence and partnership working
• Continue our partnership work around Project NightEye based intelligence, with early use of civil orders or Sexual Risk Orders. This targets our most prolific offenders within the night-time economy area.

Each Friday and Saturday evening, we stand up our Nightime Economy Policing Operation with officers deployed on foot at key locations. This includes the Barbican and City Centre area. We will also have plain clothes patrols out during the festive period.
