Local Priority Issues

Anti-social Driving (Operation Levelgate) Issued 04 July 2026 |
The Neighbourhood Policing Team will continue to prioritise tackling anti-social driving to improve road safety, reduce community harm, and enhance residents’ quality of life. Through proactive patrols, targeted enforcement, intelligence-led activity, and engagement with local communities, officers will identify and address behaviours such as speeding, dangerous driving, vehicle nuisance, and illegal vehicle use. Working in partnership with local authorities, road safety teams, and community groups, we will take a coordinated approach to prevention, education, and enforcement, ensuring concerns raised by the public are acted upon effectively. This priority reflects our commitment to public service by listening to community concerns, protecting vulnerable road users, and creating safer neighbourhoods for everyone. The increased use of civil orders to target specific individuals and locations to reduce overall demand. Issued 04 July 2026 |
This local policing priority focuses on the proactive use of civil orders and other preventative powers to address individuals and locations that have a disproportionate impact on the community through persistent crime and antisocial behaviour. By targeting those responsible for generating repeated demand on police and partner agencies, the priority seeks to resolve long-standing issues that negatively affect residents, businesses and public spaces. Rather than relying solely on repeated enforcement after offences have occurred, this approach is designed to break the cycle of offending and reoffending by using appropriate legal interventions alongside partnership working and support where appropriate. The aim is to deliver lasting solutions to entrenched and recurring problems, improve community safety, and create safer, more resilient neighbourhoods for everyone. Actioned 01 September 2026 |

Operation Fastwater Issued 04 July 2026 |
Operation Fastwater is a local policing priority focused on protecting our community by disrupting and preventing criminal activity linked to the theft of and from motor vehicles. The operation targets an organised group associated with these offences, as well as the dangerous driving that often follows, which places members of the public, road users and emergency responders at significant risk. It also addresses concerns around the exploitation of children by those involved in this criminality, recognising the harm caused to young people who may be coerced or groomed into offending. Through targeted enforcement, safeguarding and partnership working, Operation Fastwater aims to reduce crime, improve road safety, protect vulnerable individuals and provide a safer environment for everyone in the local area. Actioned 01 September 2026 |
