Local Priority Issues

Priority Action taken

Vulnerability Reduction - including safeguarding repeat victims and vulnerable persons and tackling violence against women and girls.

Issued 01 July 2026

We continue to focus on VAWG following our launch of 'walk and talk' in the area which is an initiative where females can pair up with a female officer to show them where in the locality they do not feel safe. We will then work with partners to try and make this better.
We also continue to work closely with partners to ensure that we are not only pursuing criminals but looking at where we can prevent crime from happening.
If you would like to utilise 'walk and talk' please email NPS-camborne@devonandcornwall.pnn.police.uk
We have carried out Op Vigilant deployments in the Evening and Night Time Economy employing a mixture of plain clothes and uniformed officers to detect and prevent crime and make the community safer.
We are also looking at new ways to engage with our communities - if you have any ideas please email us using the NPS email above. We have introduced an ASB walk and talk where an officer will talk through issues that you are experiencing in different areas. Again please email for details or to book a slot.

Community Harm - Focusing on:
- Persistent and severe Anti-Social Behaviours
- Serious Violence including Knife Crime
- Road Safety
- Shoplifting

Issued 01 July 2026

Hotspot Policing continues to be in place with officers carrying out daily high visibility foot patrols in Hotspot locations with a focus on Anti-Social Behaviour.
We are working closely with the ASB officers around Anti-Social behaviour escalation and ensuring support is in place where needed.
We will continue to be highly visible in the community and focus on those who repeatedly commit crime and cause the community harm.
In the last 3 months since 1st April 2026- officers have carried out 284 high visibility foot patrols in hotspot areas in Camborne, Redruth and Pool. A hotspot is a specific, small geographical area where data shows a high concentration of Anti-Social behaviour and crime.
Camborne retailers continue to use the DISC crime reporting app to report crime and share information which has a real impact on shoplifting and retail offences in the town. Redruth are introducing UK PAC which will perform the same function enabling businesses to easily interact and report crime.
