Local Priority Issues

Priority Action taken

The St Austell Neighbourhood Policing Team are committed to working with partner agencies and the community to tackle anti-social behaviour (ASB).

ASB is conduct that causes (or is likely to cause) harassment, alarm or distress to persons not of the same household of the offender.

Recently St Austell Neighbourhood Team working with partners were successful in applying to the courts to obtain closure orders on addresses where the residents behaviour was causing ASB. We were only able to do this with the help from the Community reporting incidents of ASB which provided us with the required evidence.

Please if you do witness an ASB incident, report it to us at the time it's taking place, this will provide us with the best opportunity to identify the persons concerned and take appropriate action.

Issued 08 October 2025

Over the past month we have been working closely with our partners in Housing and the local Council to tackle ASB. As previously reported two addresses have been closed due to the residents causing ASB, we are now currently looking at a possible third address to close owing to the ASB associated to it. We are also looking to evidence and escalate up the ASB scale named persons who have been causing ASB issues in their local areas.

Using your reports we are identifying the best times/places for us to conduct high vis patrols to prevent ASB. Please keep reporting any issues to us.

Devon and Cornwall Police Service are committed to improving road safety for everyone.

Throughout the St Austell Policing area we have had reports of off road bikes being ridden on public roads, footpaths and across land they do not have permission to be on. The riders of these bikes are putting themselves at risk as they are often driving at speed without appropriate safety equipment. They are also putting other road users at risk, we have had reports of near misses with pedestrians.

We are working hard to locate the riders of these bikes to educate or take appropriate enforcement action with them. Please if you witness anything road related that concerns you please report it at the time you see it to give us the best chance to locate and deal with the driver/rider.

Issued 08 October 2025

November update - We would like to thank the community for your support with supplying us information about this ongoing issue. Over the past few weeks riders of Motor/electric bikes have been identified. In some cases the riders have been provided with education. Others have had enforcement action taken against them.

St Austell Neighbourhood Team are working proactively to tackle illicit drug use and dealing within our communities. Working in partnership we have been targeting addresses and locations that evidence suggest are linked to drug use/dealing. The harm that drugs cause to our communities is unacceptable, only with the help of the community can we tackle this challenge.

If you have any information that may assist us please report it to us via our website or by Crime Stoppers.

Issued 08 October 2025

Working with our partners we have identified a number of persons who we believe are harm due to being involved with illicit drugs. We are now working to safeguard these persons while also tackling the cause of the issue with disputation such as arrest and warrants, targeting the persons our information suggest are supplying the drugs. Please keep contacting us with information as it may be the missing part of the puzzle that allows us to take action.
