St Blazey & Tywardreath

Your Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) is a group of local police officers dedicated to serving your community. The team is made up of officers and PCSOs based in your area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

We work closely with local authorities, community leaders and residents to decide our policing priorities for the area. This helps us to find useful, long-term solutions to local problems, while maintaining our wider focus on reducing crime across Devon and Cornwall.

Local Priority Issues

Priority Action taken

The St Austell Neighbourhood Policing Team are committed to working with partner agencies and the community to tackle anti-social behaviour (ASB).

ASB is conduct that causes (or is likely to cause) harassment, alarm or distress to persons not of the same household of the offender.

Please if you do witness an ASB incident, report it to us at the time it's taking place, this will provide us with the best opportunity to identify the persons concerned and take appropriate action.

Issued 05 January 2026

As a result of the reports from members of the community we have targeted our patrols in area where the reports are indicating ASB is most likely to occur. We have also been issuing ASB warnings to persons identified as causing ASB and where the evidence allows, arresting and charging people for ASB related crimes.

Please continue to report ASB at the time it's occurring to provide us with the best opportunity to deal with it.

Working with our local partners in the retail community we are targeting and robustly dealing with persons who are committing offences against retailers.

Crimes against businesses can take many forms such as shoplifting, non paying diners to staff theft and burglary's. The impact of these crimes is often under appreciated, for smaller independent retailers these offences can mean the difference between staying open or closing for good!

Please ensure all retail crimes are reported to us.

Issued 05 January 2026

We have increased our patrols in and around retail premises. This is to provide reassurance to the retail community and to provide a visual deterrent. We are also assisting in introducing new reporting systems for retail premises that want to be part of a new scheme. This scheme streamlines the reporting process and also enables easier sharing of information.

We continue to take robust action with offenders for retail crimes, most recently yesterday a prolific shoplifter was arrested, charged, remanded and has been put before the court to be dealt with for the offences they committed.

St Austell Neighbourhood Team are working proactively to tackle illicit drug use and drug dealing within our communities. Working in partnership we are going to be targeting addresses and locations that evidence suggest are linked to drug use/dealing. The harm that drugs cause to our communities is unacceptable.

If you have any information that may assist us please report it to us via our website or by Crime Stoppers.

Issued 05 January 2026

We would like to thank everyone who has contacted us and crime stoppers with concerns in relation to illicit drug use and dealing. Using this information we are targeting and planning proactive work to address this issue. When we can we will share the results of this work on our local Facebook page and this website.
