Your Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) is a group of local police officers dedicated to serving your community. The team is made up of officers and PCSOs based in your area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

We work closely with local authorities, community leaders and residents to decide our policing priorities for the area. This helps us to find useful, long-term solutions to local problems, while maintaining our wider focus on reducing crime across Devon and Cornwall.

Local Priority Issues

Priority Action taken

The St Austell Neighbourhood Policing Team are committed to working with partner agencies and the community to tackle anti-social behaviour (ASB).

ASB is conduct that causes (or is likely to cause) harassment, alarm or distress to persons not of the same household of the offender.

Please if you do witness an ASB incident, report it to us at the time it's taking place, this will provide us with the best opportunity to identify the persons concerned and take appropriate action with our partner agencies.

Issued 02 April 2026

With the recent good weather we have had a rise in ASB issues being reported, some of these incident have been reported while they are ongoing which has allowed us to attend, identify the persons who have been causing the issues and deal with them via the ASB process.
However we are still seeing ASB issues being reported after they have taken place which means the actions we can take are limited or instead the incidents are not being reported to us at all and instead put on social media. We need you as the community to report these issues to us at the time when they are taking place to allow us the best chance to take positive action.

Actioned 01 May 2026

With our key partners we are working to safeguard members of the community who are at risk of serious harm by exploitation. Exploitation can take many forms, it can relate to finances, relationships, housing or to being asked/forced to do things for a another that puts a person at great risk of harm.

If you suspect someone you know is being exploited please contact us, we can then work to safeguard them.

Issued 02 April 2026

We have been working with our partners and have together identified a number of children and vulnerable adults who are possibly being exploited. Measures are being put in place to safeguard these people and to also deal with the persons who are exploiting them.
Please if you have any concerns for any persons contact us so we can help them.

St Austell Neighbourhood Team are working proactively to tackle illicit drug use and drug dealing within our communities. Working in partnership we are going to be targeting addresses and locations that evidence suggest are linked to drug use/dealing. The harm that drugs cause to our communities is unacceptable, please help us to address this issue. If you have any information that may assist us please report it to us via our website or via Crime Stoppers.

Issued 02 April 2026

The Neighbourhood Team at St Austell are currently reviewing and developing the information that has been provided to by you the members of the community. Using this we are conducting high-visibility patrols in areas where we have been told there is drug related activity. We are also using this information to apply to the courts for premise search warrants to directly target addresses suspected to be involved in drug dealing.
Please continue to provide us with any information you have as it will help us tackle this issue.
