- Visible Patrols - We have completed 332hrs of visible patrols in December throughout South East Cornwall
- Beat Patrol Plans – reports by the public will dictate where we are patrolling. We continue to respond to reports of ASB and increase our visibility in these areas
- Partnership Working – we continue to work closely with our partners to deal robustly with reports of persistent ASB. We have been consistently using Local Disruption and Support Meetings to target locations.
- Operation Bus Watch – Plain clothes officers travelling on bus network targeting ASB and VAWG
- Operation Sceptre – Intensification week targeting knife crime in November. Included 101hrs of visible patrols targeting any locations with knife / weapons related incident. 29 knives handed in amnesty bin. Included plain clothes operation test purchasing businesses to ensure adhering to ‘challenge 25’ when selling knifes - 100% of businesses positively challenged
- **Problem Solving Community Concern - reports from local business of concerns of ASB next to bus stop on Dean Street where group congregate and drink alcohol. Neighbourhood officers have increased visible patrols and enforced powers under the current Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO). This has resulted in a immediate reduction in this area. Police continue to monitor**

RETAIL CRIME

- Hotspot visits – Hotspot policing is a crime prevention strategy that concentrates police resources and activities on small, high-crime areas (hotspots) like specific streets, parks, or intersections, based on data showing crime clusters, not even distribution. By increasing visible patrols, problem-solving, and community engagement in these concentrated spots, police aim to deter potential offenders, reduce crime, and create a greater sense of public safety. South East Cornwall has designated Hotspots within our Towns of Saltash, Liskeard, Torpoint and Looe, which are concentred around retail areas. In December these were attended 95 times with 81hrs spent inside these locations
- Engagement – we have engaged directly with business owners, promoting how to contact your local Police Neighbourhood Team and promote engagement through community messaging.
- UKPAC - UKPAC is a not-for-profit co-operative made up of like-minded businesses, police, crime prevention agencies and legal professionals — all working together to improve trading conditions and community safety. Working with our Crime Prevention Team, we have sourced funding for a free trial of UKPAC to allow businesses to trial this platform and have been offering this to businesses throughout the sector.
- *****Officers from A Section Patrol, accompanied by Professional Development Unit attended an address in Liskeard to carry out an arrest on the Morning o the 7th January. Whilst present, a prolific Shoplifter was located inside and detained whilst details were checked. They were showing as named suspect for 4 offences since the 16th December 2025. Officers from Patrol and the Liskeard Neighbourhood team worked together to engage with local businesses, providing reassurance and collecting all the evidence. E Section Patrol worked into the night, putting together a charge file to secure a charge for 9 crimes of Theft from Shop and a remand for the next available court. The Liskeard Neighbourhood Team, partnered with Cornwall Council will be seeking a Criminal Behaviour Order to be instated to protect the local community and retail premises from offending by this individual.***

DRUG DEALING AND ASSOCIATED EXPLOITATION

- Operation Scorpion – in November we supported Operation Scorpion, which is a collaboration between Police Forces throughout South West. We conducted 116 hrs of visible patrols in areas with drug incidents and acted on community intelligence in relation to drug activity.
- Railway Network – joint exercise conducted with British Transport Police and Drugs Dog targeting drugs and county lines on the railway network travelling in and through South East Cornwall. This resulted in 8 train stations searched, 4 trains boarded, 9 stop searches, and three drug seizures,
- Licensing Checks – joint operation with licensing team conducting visits at pubs completing licensing checks with opportunity for drug wipes within locations if concerned with drug use.
