Rural Affairs - Livestock Worrying

We have received a report of 43 Easy Care Ewes and Lambs attacked and killed by a Collie type dog, between 31st August 2026 overnight into 1st September 2026. The same dog is believed to have returned over four consecutive nights, causing further injuries and deaths to more Ewes and Lambs. 

We have also been made aware that other Farms have been attacked & we are urging those Farmers to report those incidents of Dog attacks on Livestock, to the police as soon as possible.  

The dog is described as a Blue Merle type Collie, with black patches and brown muzzle and legs. 
We ask for farmers & other members of the public, to please be vigilant for any loose dogs, seen unaccompanied on yours or your neighbours land. If you have any information or recognise the dog described, please phone 101 quoting 50260236943
