ASB Vehicles - Tavistock |
||
|
We are aware of a Facebook post regarding late-night vehicle noise and alleged anti-social driving in Tavistock.
We have received only two reports of anti-social vehicle use in the previous six months within Tavistock town. This is not reflective of what is stated in the social media post and as so, we ask anybody with such concerns to report them directly to us via 101 or our website.
As and when officers have identified anti-social driving it has been dealt with robustly, but the small number of reports to us mean that the issue does not warrant specific pre-planned operations to target it at this time. Enforcement action we have taken in the past 12 months in relation to anti-social driving in West Devon are S.59 notices, vehicle prohibitions, court summons for traffic offences and DVLA referrals for poor driving.
Road safety is a sector priority within West Devon. We remain committed to reducing harm on our road networks so encourage the public to tell us if there is a recurring problem or concerns over an individual.
The posts also indicate that there are no Police on duty in Tavistock post 6pm. We can confirm this is also inaccurate, as we have patrol teams working 24/7/365 in addition to a growing neighbourhood team. We have the challenge of not only covering Tavistock Town but 250 square miles of rural Dartmoor from Roborough Down to Liftondown and as far east as Drewsteignton.
As always we ask people within our community to speak to us and report crime and their concerns to us so we can allocate our resources where they are required.
