A Dispersal Order has been put in place following information about a planned large-scale gathering of young people in Sidmouth today, 21 March, and potential for antisocial behaviour.

The Section 35 Dispersal Order, covering the town centre area shown in the map, begins at 3pm and runs until 7am tomorrow, 22 March.

The order gives officers enhanced powers to prevent antisocial behaviour, reduce disruption, and keep the public safe.

What this means:
- Officers can direct individuals or groups to leave the area immediately.
- Those directed must not return within the specified time period.
- Failure to comply is a criminal offence and may result in arrest.
- Anyone under the age of 16 may be taken home or to a place of safety.
- Officers will be carrying out increased high-visibility patrols and robust action will be taken where necessary.
