Protect your motorcycle, moped or scooter from theft |
||
|
We are aware of reports of moped's which have been set alight on fire after being removed from their owners address in the Penzance area. Thieves only need a matter of seconds to steal a moped, scooter or motorcycle, especially if they are left with poor security.
Please reduce your risk of becoming a victim by taking simple steps to increase your security. Thieves often ‘shop’ for particular bike models. Using a cover instantly makes it less attractive to them. A cover also provides another time consuming obstacle for the thief. The best place to keep a moped or motorcycle is in a garage or shed which can be locked. If you don't have either, then park it in an area near to your home where it’s well overlooked with good lighting.
Unfortunately security measures can’t guarantee your bike won’t be stolen but, by using multiple security measures, you can make it harder and less attractive for thieves.
If your bike is stolen, never put yourself at risk. Call police immediately on 999 if you see it being stolen or report the incident to Devon and Cornwall Police online: Report | Devon & Cornwall Police
