Damage to Trewyn Gardens, St Ives - Arrest

Operation Iron Fist

On 24th June, a significant amount of damage was caused to all the flowers and plants along the flower beds in Trewyn Gardens, St Ives - with flowers ripped out, trampled and destroyed, amounting to several hundred pounds of damage.

We have conducted a day of action, to crack down on the anti social behaviour in the town and stamp it out.

This afternoon we formally identified and arrested a suspect in relation to the significant Criminal Damage caused in the Gardens. That suspect has been interviewed under caution in Police custody and released on bail, with bail conditions. While we have dealt with one suspect, we have identified two further suspects and will also be dealing with them imminently.

We will continue to identify and deal with/arrest those who cause damage or commit offences in the town, as this behaviour will not be tolerated.

Many thanks,
