Rural Affairs - Livestock Theft

Today Lee and Lucy from the Rural Affairs Team have been out talking to livestock owners, giving advice on farm security and how to protect livestock.

Protect your Livestock by

-Knowing where your livestock are and how many you have in which field.

-Ensure your stock are tagged and have been stock marked.

-When turning out stock or bringing them in, scan them in and out and conduct regular checks on your stock.

-Consider CCTV or wildlife cameras in isolated locations or if you are concerned about livestock theft.

-Lock gates with a good chain and padlock and consider fence and gate security.

If you have livestock stolen, report it on 999 if it is a crime in progress or 101 on the phone or Police website in a non emergency.
