Rural Fuel Theft

Having had a report of a farm fuel theft in our force area, it is a good time to send a reminder out to farms asking you to consider the security of your fuel stores.

Make sure any fuel stores you have are secured and locked and if possible consider extra security such as CCTV, an alarm system and fencing.

Make sure your records are up to date as to how much fuel you currently have and if you see any suspicious activity report it to police immediately.

If there is someone on your farm that shouldn't be, and they are still on scene CALL 999 to report a crime in progress.

If you find that fuel has been stolen from your farm after the event, it is still really important to get it reported to police either by calling 101, or reporting via the Devon and Cornwall Police Website.

Lets work together to drive out rural crime!
