Re: Week of Action – Community Safety and Engagement Update

Dear Residents,

Over the past week, officers from Crownhill and Plympton Neighbourhood Police Teams have been actively involved in a coordinated Week of Action across our community. This initiative was part of our ongoing commitment to making Plymouth a safer, stronger, and more connected place for everyone.

Here’s a summary of what we’ve achieved together over the past week:

🔹 Increased Patrols & Visibility

We deployed officers on foot and mobile patrols in key areas, helping deter crime and provide reassurance to residents and businesses.

🔹 Community Engagement Events

Our team met with residents at several pop-up stands, local schools, the university and community centres. These events allowed for open conversations about safety concerns and how we can work together to address them.

🔹 Crime Prevention Activities

We conducted targeted operations to tackle antisocial behaviour, drug activity, and vehicle-related crime. We are pleased to say that drug related arrests were made, ASB1 warnings were issued, shoplifters disrupted and an important message regarding dangerous THC/SPICEW vapes was widely disseminated.

🔹 Partnership Work

Officers worked alongside housing associations, local councils, councillors and charities to carry out welfare checks, offer support services, and address neighbourhood concerns directly.

This Week of Action was not just about enforcement — it was about listening, connecting, and taking meaningful steps toward long-term improvements in public safety and trust.

We’d like to thank all residents, community groups, and partners who supported and participated in these efforts. Your involvement is vital to our shared success.

We would particularly like to thank local shops, NEXT, M&S, Marjons, Estover, Crownhill and Plympton Community Libraries, Wetherspoons, Iceland, Harewood House, The Conservative Club and COOP at Crownhill & Plympton.

If you have concerns or ideas to help improve safety and wellbeing in our community, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.

Stay connected. Stay safe.
